Finish It With a Choke or Strangle

 

 When it comes to chokes and strangles you need quality not quantity.  A few good chokes that can be used in a wide variety of situation is the recipe to success.  In this DVD, you will learn four unarmed and four stick chokes or strangles that you can use to finish off an attacker no matter where you are positioned.  It is a great feeling that no matter where you are located a choke or strangle is always within reach.

In CMA, we generally start with strikes since they have a higher percentage of success and are better when multiple opponents or weapons are involved - which is most common on the street.  However, there are some attackers that for whatever reason are not stopped by strikes.  For these times, a good choke or strangle is great to have in your back pocket.

Finish It With A Knockout DVD

Finish It With A Knockout - Vol 1

If you want to be able to knockout someone, this DVD is for you. In the DVD ‘Finish It with a Knockout’ Craig Sira, self protection expert and founder of Combative Martial Arts, instructs five simple targets that have a high percentage to knock out an attacker. Each target area is explained along with how to activate it. Then actual knockouts to each target area is demonstrated so you can see exactly how to do it yourself.

You do not need to learn complex set ups, acupuncture points or theories to be able to use these targets. You do not need to know why it works. It does not take years of training. Finish It With a Knockout Vol 2 - Pressure Drills

In CMA, knockout training has two key elements. In the DVD 'Finish It with a Knockout Vol 1' Craig instructed targets and how to hit them that have a high reliability to KO someone. In Vol 2, Pressure Drills you will learn drills that put the student into a situation where they are forced to knockout their partner.

Pressure drills are valuable since the student and instructor are provided instant feedback if they were able to knockout someone. The instructor can coach the student as the drill is being performed to ensure success. In addition, the level of pressure in the drills can be adjusted depending on the students skill level. This allows them to be challenging for everyone.

Finish It With a Scorpion Finish:  Grab then Strike

Some attackers are hard to put away. Most of the time power and knockout strikes will be enough to finish off an attacker. However, sometimes you need a bit more and that is where scorpion finishes have value. A scorpion finish is a grab that stretches or stabilizes a vital target so that the strike is more likely to finish the person off. It is very instinctive to hold someone with one hand and strike with the other.

In this DVD, Craig Sira, the founder of Combative Martial Arts, and some students will instruct how to use scorpion finishes when you are unarmed or armed with a knife or black jack. CMA Combat Fitness #1 Technique Form

You are not just getting in shape but learning self defense. In this DVD, CMA Combat Fitness #1 Technique Form, you will learn effective self protection skills while increasing your fitness level. Learn and practice techniques such as palm strikes, elbows, knees and the double thumb eye gouge that have a proven track record in self protection confrontations. The workout begins with single strikes then moves to combinations, including a round of stick strikes. An important part of the workout is plyometrics which will develop your explosive power. This DVD can be practiced solo in the air or on a heavy bag.

You control the pace and intensity level of the workout in a couple of key ways. The first way is to practice at slow, medium or full power level. These levels will be covered in round 1. The second way is the plyometric exercises. You can choose to do all the plyometrics or to substitute regular exercises instead. For example, do regular squats instead of jumping squats. Then over time, increase the intensity level.

CMA Combat Fitness #3 - 30/20 Workout

 

 You are not just getting in shape but learning self defense. In this DVD, CMA Combat Fitness #3 30/20 Workout, you will practice effective self protection skills while increasing your fitness level. The 30/20 Workout is 30 minutes of cardio followed by 20 minutes of bag work. This DVD can be practiced solo or with a partner in the air or on a heavy bag.

In the DVD, the 30 minutes of cardio is made up of interval and plyometrics/medicine ball/shadow sparring. You can do any cardio workout for 30 minutes such as running, biking, swimming etc. The important thing is to be exhausted when you are complete. Then follow it up with 20 minutes of bag work.
